TNU Finale Update #3!
Hey guys. I'm here with another update. I have
good and bad news. The bad news is that I haven't made much progress
since the last update. It was the end of the school year and finishing
essays and studying for final exams was taking up a lot of my time.
However, (the good news), is that I finished the school year yesterday
and am now on summer vacation. So I have a LOT more free time. I plan to
work on the TNU video a lot today, and I expect it to be 85-90% done by
the end of the day. I apologize for taking so long, but I am at least
slowly making progress. It shouldn't be too much longer until it is
uploaded at this point. Thank you for being patient.

TNU Finale Update #2!
Sorry, but the video is not finished yet. I
have made a lot of progress, but there is a lot of work involved, which
is why it isn't finished yet. I am going to work on it a bit today.
After I do so, it should be about 70% done.
I know it is taking awhile, but I am making progress. If it was summer vacation, it would be finished by now. I have a had a lot of schoolwork these past couple of weeks due to the school year wrapping up. I'm not going to give you a release date, because I really don't know when I will finish it. It shouldn't be too much longer though.
Thank you for your patience!

TNU Finale Update!
The video is not complete yet, but I have
slowly been working on it. I made a lot of progress today. I would the
video is about 30% done at this point. I know that doesn't sound like
much, but if I work on it a lot this upcoming week I could probably get
that number up to 60%. I hope to get the video up by the end of May, but
who knows how busy I could get.
I just wanted to update you guys so you know that I am working on it and haven't forgotten about it. XD

TNU Finale: Round 5 Complete!
TNU Finale: Round 5 Complete!
Sandile: Both of you guys have completed the final challenge! I was slightly worried that one of you wouldn't complete it, but I am glad to see that that didn't happen. The two of you have now done every challenge! Even if you end up losing, be proud that you were able to complete every challenge and make it is this far! This camp has been going on for nearly three years, and you guys both persevered until the end!
Toad: I won't be telling you the winner yet. As I did with TPI, I will be preparing a long Finale video for everyone who participated in the camp to watch. It will probably be over 10 minutes long, so it will take me a little while to make. I'm not sure how long it will take, but I will try to work on it as much as I can during the next few weeks. I will give you updates during my progress of the video so you can have an idea how much longer it will take.
Sandile: I hope you are looking forward to the Finale video of Total Nintendo Universe!

TNU Finale: Round 5 (Final Round)
Sandile: Seeing this message,
you are probably assuming that Popo won Round 4. However, that is not
necessarily the case. I am not going to tell you who won this round
until the Finale video. (It was pretty close though, I will say.)
Toad: After the message for Round 4 was sent out, I realized that if Pikachu won Round 4, then Popo would know he lost as soon as the Finale video was uploaded. This would cause the Finale video to be anticlimactic. I then decided that I would not reveal the winner of Round 4, and no matter who won, I would send out another challenge.
Sandile: Has Pikachu already won? Or is Popo still hanging on? Only I know the answer to that! Now here is the final challenge of Total Nintendo Universe:
Give me your thoughts on TNU! Yup, the final challenge is as simple as that . Just give me your thoughts! Your only guidelines are to make sure your responses are heartfelt and honest! Should you write a few sentences, or perhaps a whole page? Should you describe all of your experiences in great detail? Or should you give me a list of what you liked and what you didn't like about the camp? All of this is up to you.
The player whose response I enjoyed the most will be the winner of the challenge. I am looking forward to seeing what you two do when receiving such little guidelines.
Your response will be your last "confessional", so be prepared for everyone who watches the Finale video to read it.
Toad: There is one final catch! If one of you do not complete this challenge, you automatically lose! So if Pikachu has already won, he could potentially be giving away his victory if he is inactive for this last challenge. (I will give plenty of time and warnings when I am about to end it, so I doubt this will happen.)
Also, the challenge will end before the video is released. I will send you a message once both of you have completed the challenge (or time has run out) telling you that the winner is official. The Finale video will then be uploaded within a few weeks revealing the winner to everyone.
You shouldn't have any questions, but if you do, ask them. I will answer if it is something I am able to answer. (BTW, I would tell if you if I was unable to answer your question, and not just give you no response. So if I am not responding, I am simply busy and just haven't checked my Youtube yet.)
Sandile: Good luck! It has been honor being your host, and I look forward to creating the last video.
Toad: This has been a long, but fun ride. And it is almost complete! So get going!

TNU Finale: Round 4
Sandile: Round 3 is complete! Here are how the mushrooms were...
Pikachu:
Bright red, spotted mushroom. The spots are yellow. Normal eye expression. (Poison)
Purple mushroom, green spots. This one has no eyes, unlike usual Mario mushrooms. (Good)
Popo:
Green mushroom with black spots. The eyes on this one look angry. (Poison)
Dark red mushroom, no spots. Normal eye expression. (Good)
Toad: Both of you chose the good mushrooms! However...
Pikachu responded first. Therefore, he wins Round 3!
Sandile: Pikachu, if you win one more round, you win TNU! Popo, you are gonna have to win two straight if you don't want to take second place!
Toad: The next challenge is fairly simple. It has three factors. Speed will be a factor, but it isn't all that is necessary to win the challenge.
For the challenge, I want you to tell me your favorite video game of all time. (If you can't decide, then tell me what one of your favorites is). Tell me the title (obviously), what genre the game is, what system it is on, what the game is like, and why you love it so much. For the reason why you love it, give me at least three or four sentences. (Tell me what about the game you love, or a memory you have playing the game, etc.)
Sandile: Here is your rubric:
Game title: 1 point
Game genre(s): 1 point
Game System(s) it is on: 1 point (You don't have to mention remakes. Just tell me what system(s) the original was on.)
Game description: 3 points
Why do you love the game so much?: 5 points
Spelling/Grammar: 2 points
Speed: 2 points (The first to complete it gets 2 points. The second person will either get 1 or 0 depending on how long it takes them).
The first three are easy points. Get everything right, and you will get full credit. The last four are the most important.
For the game description: tell me what the game is like. Is it a short retro sidescroller with catchy music? Or is it an open-world fantasy game? Just give me a sentence or two in this category.
Why you love the game so much is the most important part. This is where I will be the most strict. A response saying, "I liked the story and graphics." will get a low score. Several sentences on why you love it so much and any nostalgia you feel is what I'm looking for. You will get a good score if I can really tell how much you love the game from your response.
Keep your spelling/grammar as good as you can. If it is readable and nearly everything is spelled correctly, you will get full-credit. (Especially make sure the game's title is spelled right!)
Speed is also fairly important. Even if you don't respond first, try to respond within the first couple of days of me sending it out to get at least a 1.
Sandile: It is a 15-point scale, so the person with the most points will win! If you both tie, the person who I think did a better job in the "Why I love the game so much" category will be the player who wins.
Toad: This could potentially be the final challenge, so good luck! Put all of your effort into this! You are both great players, so I expect this to be close!
Sandile: I was very happy that both of you participated last challenge. I wanted this to be an exciting finale, and it looks as if that is how it is going to be!
Toad: Please give confessionals! Since this could be it, I want one final confessional from the both of you!
Sandile: Good luck! Like always, if you have any questions, ask away! :D
Pikachu:
Bright red, spotted mushroom. The spots are yellow. Normal eye expression. (Poison)

TNU Finale: Round 3
Sandile: Round 2 is complete! A lot of extra
time was given, so I will not be giving any more time to you Popo. I
understand you are busy, but I cannot give you unlimited time, or else
this finale will last forever.
Toad: This round disappointed me. Pikachu did a good job with a well-written story that was a good read. Sadly, Popo never did the challenge. I originally wanted to end the challenge early this week, but gave more time to Popo since he was busy, and to Pikachu since I had left a question unanswered for several days.
Sandile: Pikachu's easy win has caused things to become tied!
Toad: I will make things a bit easier for you guys this time. Round 3 will be a luck challenge.
I present you each with two mushrooms. (They look similar to the ones in the Mario series.)
Pikachu:
Bright red, spotted mushroom. The spots are yellow. Normal eye expression.
Purple mushroom, green spots. This one has no eyes, unlike usual Mario mushrooms.
Popo:
Green mushroom with black spots. The eyes on this one look angry.
Dark red mushroom, no spots. Normal eye expression.
For each of you, one mushroom is good to eat, and the other is poisoned. If both of you eat a good mushroom, the first one to eat it wins the round. If both of you eat a poisoned mushroom, the last one to eat it wins the round. And obviously, if one of you eats a good mushroom and one eats a poison one, the person to eat a good mushroom wins.
Sandile: I wanted to give you guys a bit of a break after the first two challenges taking a bit of time. Popo, this is a good opportunity for you to maybe get back in the lead. You have been very busy, but this challenge should take you a minute, so you should be able to complete it right away. And Pikachu, if you have luck on your side, or if Popo misses this challenge as well, then you will be the one taking the lead.
Toad: I am interested in seeing how things turn out this round. I am hopeful that I see participation from the both of you. After all, I want this to be a fun finale! :D

TNU Finale: Round 2
TNU Finale: Round 2
Sandile: Round 1 is complete!
Toad: It was very close...
Pikachu, you answered first and got a 9/10. The one question you got wrong was the one about which pass was the most popular. This was probably one of the harder ones. You guessed the IP, which was a very good guess. However, the answer was the Beggar Pass.
Popo... you got a perfect 10/10. So despite sending in your responses after Pikachu, you have won Round 1! Congrats! You are now 1/3 of the way to winning the camp!
Sandile: Time for the next challenge!
It's story time!
I want both of you guys to type a short story about a battle between the two of you. Describe a battle between Popo and Pikachu. That is pretty much the only requirement. There is no specified length, but try to make it around a page long. As long as it isn't way too short or way too long, it's fine. (Don't give me five sentences, obviously, but also don't give me ten pages!)
Whoever's story I enjoy the most will be who wins the round. Try to keep the grammar and spelling as good as possible. Though both of you type pretty well, so I don't see this being a problem. If you type it on Microsoft Word or Google Docs, this should help you with that if you are having trouble.
Toad: You both completed Round 1, so I hope things continue to run smoothly! I'm interested to see if this could end up being a four or five round finale...
Sandile: I took a little while to end Round 1 since I was sick. Hopefully I can end it a little faster this time.
Toad: Feel free to leave another confessional if you want, though I won't force you, too!
Sandile: Get writing! :D Send your stories in the comments. If you have any questions, post them there. I won't end the challenge without answering your question(s).

TNU Finale: Round 1
TNU Finale: Round 1
Sandile: Hello! Congratulations Popo and Pikachu on making the Final 2 of Total Nintendo Universe. Both of you guys have worked really hard to make it here, and I am very excited to see who wins!
Toad: The finale will be a best of five. So therefore it could be as little as three rounds, or as many as five. It all depends on how you guys perform.
Sandile: I don't want to start off with any luck or speed challenges, so instead I am going to start you guys off with a quiz. What is the topic? Total Nintendo Universe.
1. At the start of Challenge 1, how many players were there?
2. What was the most expensive pass in the camp?
3. Who was the first player to quit?
4. What pass was given to players at the start of the camp if they advertised it?
5. During the Final 40, were there two teams of twenty, or four teams of ten?
6. Who was the original captain of Team Nintendo Knights?
7. Which of the following players was available at sign-ups, but never actually in the camp: Tingle, Charizard, or Proto Man?
8. What was the most popular pass at the beginning of the camp?
9. What is my favorite Pokemon?
10. Who is my favorite Mario character?
Toad: Whoever gets the most questions correct wins! If both of you guys get the same amount correct, then the person who sent in their answers first will win the round. (Send your answers in the comments of this post, like always.)
Sandile: It would be nice for you to get off to a good start, so good luck! Please complete the challenge as quickly as you can. I will try my best to end it in a few days.
Toad: Please send confessionals! I want at least a few for the final video. (Once one of you gets two round wins, I will require you both to send one.)
Sandile: Good luck!
